Don’t discriminate – it only generates hate

Every child, let alone person, deserves what we take for granted. She/he deserves the right to education, fair opportunities, childhood, those moments of “growing up” we had the privilege of experiencing. This may come as a shock to some of you, but you may possibly be the most blessed person from where someone stands. Because there is an eleven-year-old girl out there who gets stoned for attending school. And there is a ten-year-old black kid who gets shunned by classmates and called “disgustingly black”. From where they stand, your everyday of ranting for more coffee and complaining about how much school work there is to do is nothing less than a paradise.

I know this post doesn’t reach many hearts. And I know my voice is too small and insignificant – hey, I’m a 17-year-old student who still has a long way to go to figure out the wonders of life – to project these ideas to the whole world. But as much as I know a lot of you may simply close this tab, scroll down through the Facebook newsfeed to get to more interesting stuff like kitten-in-a-box video, but I cannot just idly sit back and play fool on the very real problems. Please take a moment to at least acknowledge this part of the world, which is the reality some people wake up to every morning.
