United Nations Day: Oct. 24 Marks Day Promoting Aims and Successes of International Organization
The Charter of the United Nations was signed on 26 June 1945, in San Francisco, at the conclusion of the United Nations Conference on International Organization, and came into force on 24 October 1945. The Statute of the International Court of Justice is an integral part of the Charter.
Marking the 70th anniversary. Not perfect, not least through the inconsistency of the 5 permanent Security Council members, its still the primary international global organisation with many positives rarely acknowledged.
“The United Nations works for the entire human family of seven billion people, and cares for the earth, our one and only home.” Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
