The US and Guns

This seems to be a never-resolved issue, but the prevalence of the topic in US media in the last week or so has raised some very interesting articles. First, the New York Times for the first time in nearly 100 years printed a front page editorial board column on the subject that’s worth reading. Also, investigations have been done into other countries’ policies on civilian gun ownership and police brutality that may be useful examples or corollaries to possibilities for the US should something ever change for the better. Unfortunately, some pretty disheartening analysis of what causes spikes in gun purchases in the US (like talk of banning guns) is not encouraging.
